Practice Pitch

The track that i have been given for my practice pitch is "Elephant Gun" by David Lee Roth. He is best known as the lead singer of Van Halen as well as having a successful solo career. The genre of his music include hard rock and heavy metal.

The song i was given is a very fast paced song, loud and upbeat. Fast paced editing would be used to match the tempo along with possible flashing images. After listening to the song i have pictured the music video to be a performance video as most rock videos are. However the camera would be focused more on David Lee Roth opposed to the rest of the band. Because the song has a high tempo it would include fast dancing and "rockin' out" by both the David Lee Roth and the audience.

My Submitted Track

The song i submitted for this task was 'Secret Alphabets' from the album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' by Kasabian. The band formed in Leicestershire in 1999  and they have released 3 studio album to date, 'Kasabian' (2004), 'Empire' (2006) and 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' (2009).
Current members include Tom Meighan (lead vocals), Sergio Perzzorno (guitar, backing vocals), Chris Edwards (bass) and Ian Matthews (drums) who joined the band after the first album. Former members include Ash Hannis who drummed for the band up until after the first album, and Chris Karloff who was former lead guitar and played the bass on 'Club Foot' and left the band after the second album.
Released singles include 'Processed Beats', 'Reason Is Treason', 'Club Foot', 'L.S.F.', 'Cutt Off', 'Empire',  'Shoot the Runner', 'Me Plus One', 'Fire', 'Where Did All the Love Go?', 'Underdog', 'Vlad the Impaler'.

The genre of this band is Indie/Alternative rock. Their music is quite contemporary so we would expect to video to be quirky and creative. However some of there videos are performance videos which either include them performing to a camera, or footage of a live show such as 'Underdog'.
